Camp 4 Vineyard, Santa Barbara CountyAlthough Mourvèdre is typically used as a blending wine, we were blown away by the flavor exhibited in one barrel in particular. The result: 23 cases of this varietal from the Camp 4 block of the Fess Parker vineyard. Characteristics Ripe yet refined, with gorgeous layers of crushed black cherry, black currant and warm fig flavors flowing into fresh minerality. Tobacco, spice and bittersweet cocoa echo through the super long finish. A very perfumy style with an amazing mouth feel. Composition 100% Mourvèdre PH 3.6 Total acidity 0.62 g / 100 ml Barrel aging 22 months Oak profile 100% Neutral Oak Release date October 2009 Cases produced 23 Price $30 |
