El Capitan - Red Blend 2008
Description
Santa Barbara County
Our signature blend is sourced from select vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. The eastern end of the valley boasts a wonderful climate for growing Rhône varietals, with long hot summers.
El Capitan consists of 66% Syrah from the La Presa vineyard, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Mourvèdre from Camp 4 vineyard.
Characteristics Bright ruby red in color, it starts with dark fruit aromas, cedar box, spice and tobacco. Dried cherry precedes hints of allspice, well integrated with oak. Meaty and full-mouthed, with intense underlying structure, giving way to a long, elegant finish.
Decanting thirty to sixty minutes before drinking is recommended.
